Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How much can an individual contribute?
A. According to Dublin City Code, individuals can contribute up to $250. (Dublin Revised Code 31.07A)

Q. If I'm married, can both spouses contribute?
A. Yes.  As long as each does so individually using separate checks or credit card transactions.  If you're using a check and have a joint bank account, each check must to be signed by each spouse individually.

Q.  Can my children contribute?
A.  Yes, if they're old enough.  A person must be at least seven years old to contribute.

Q. I don’t live in Dublin, can I still contribute?
A. Yes.  You only need to be a Citizen of the United States to contribute.

Q. Can I make a campaign contribution by credit card?
A. Yes. Use the donation form above and you can pay with Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express.

Q. Can I make a campaign contribution in cash?
A. In order to more easily comply with campaign finance laws, the Chris Amorose Groomes for Dublin campaign prefers to only accept check or Credit Card contributions.

Q. Is my campaign contribution tax deductible?
A. No, IRS regulations do not allow campaign contributions to be deductible.

Q. Can my business contribute?
A. Maybe.  We cannot accept contributions from corporations.  However, legal professional associations and other entities such as limited liability companies, partnerships and unincorporated businesses may contribute providing they meet the definitions under Ohio Revised Code 1785, 1775-1783, and are not "corporations" under 3599.03.  

A partnership or unincorporated business may use its checking account to transmit a contribution to a candidate, however, please note that the contribution must be accompanied by detailed information about each partner, owner or member and their allocated portion of the contribution.
